About The Magnificent Flute The recording "The Magnificent Flute" features the work of John Moryl, an award-winning flutist and saxophonist and much in-demand teacher throughout the New York area. On the recording John performs standard repertoire ranging from 18th century composers such as Bach and Handel through the twentieth century. His partner on this recording is pianist Linda Mark, the head accompanist at The Juilliard School, as well as one of the top freelance keyboard players in New York City. "The Magnificent Flute" is a celebration of the joys of flute music, from the childlike simplicity of J. S. Bach's "Minuet in G" to virtuoso showpieces like Franz Doppler's "Fantasie Pastorale Hongroise." This recording is ideal for the discerning classical music listener and flute student. A successful music educator, John grew frustrated at the lack of recordings for many of these works, and resolved to create an album that is both thrilling and beautiful for the listener. In addition to the exciting performances, this collection comes complete with detailed liner notes for each work.
