Joshua Walker is a versatile guitarist and composer performing in many different groups including several of his own. He has opened concerts for artists such as Randy Brecker, Pat and Joe LaBarbara, and has performed at The Montreal International Jazz Festival, the International Jazz Educators Conference in Toronto, Ontario, and at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C.. He has performed on the same concert bill as Charlie Byrd, and has performed at The Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and at The Bob Marley One Love Festival, the Jazz By the Lake Festival and The Occasion for the Arts Festival in Virginia. Joshua has also performed with Jason Mraz, Cecil Bridgewater, Alvestar Garnett, Joe Byrd, and with Johnny Thunder of 'The Drifters'. Joshua has played at many well-known jazz clubs as a leader and a sideman in both the United States and Canada. Joshua has studied with Gary Thomas, Paul Bollenback, Greg Osby, and Michael Formanek. Joshua is a member of The Jazz Composer's Alliance in Richmond, Virginia, and has been a featured composer at several of their concerts. Joshua's compositions have been featured four times on the jazz-guitar, internet podcast entitled, 'No Idle Frets', as well as other radio stations in Quebec and Ontario, Canada. Joshua's first solo album,' Inertia', features his compositions performed by his working quartet of the last four years. Another of Joshua's projects, the Joshua Walker Trio, also maintains an active performance schedule in the mid-atlantic area. Joshua also performs with the Canadian group 'K.C & The Sketches' and with U.S. based groups, 'Soul Army' and 'Sesshin'.
