NEW AGE MUSIC BY INNOVATIVE RECORDING ARTIST JULIA PROVIDES A WARM RETREAT FROM THE STORMS OF LIFE Julia describes the songs on "Mariposa" as an intricate blend of blissful and haunting musical landscapes from around the world. Her innovative harp playing is complemented by acoustic guitar, ethnic flutes, strings, chimes, and other soothing sounds. "'Mariposa' means butterfly in Spanish and the entire CD is very symbolic of taking flight and experiencing the ambience of some of the most peaceful and relaxing places in the world," said Julia, who co-wrote all the CD's songs with Eddie Towns Jr. "So many people have been telling me how much this music has been helping them to cope." Among the many locations Julia transports her listeners to are Antibes, France, the streets of Byblos, in Lebanon, and Madrid, Spain. "Antibes definitely takes me back to the Cap D'Antibes in the south of France where I lived for several years," said Julia. "Driving along the Cap D'Antibes on the Mediterranean sea was one of the most beautiful sights I've ever experienced." Julia earned a master's degree in music from Yale University, a bachelor's degree in music from The University of Victoria and an artist diploma from The National Conservatory of Nice, France. She has shared the stage with Luciano Pavarotti (Pavarotti and Friends) in Modena, Italy, and also has appeared on numerous television programs worldwide, including the hit series "The King of Queens" and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien."
