In 1997, Curtis James, a creative keyboard player and Jim Robinson, an innovative drummer joined talents to form a songwriting team called The Kaliwan Project. While both were playing for other bands, they made the time to write songs for themselves and other local acts in the surrounding Philadelphia areas. In the following year, The Kaliwan Project introduced their first song to the awaiting public. The song was \'Pulse\' which surprised the song writing team as to the high level of response from the audience. Curtis James an accomplished keyboard and organ player, who has played behind many of today's gospel vocalists which are too many to name and several churches in the Philadelphia and surrounding areas. And Jim Robinson the well sort after drummer has managed an impressive resume in his own rite which includes playing drums behind keyboardist/songwriter William Morris,Group Four,Counterplay,Robert Ladson Choir and singer/songwriter Malcolm Keith of Chicago,IL In 2007, Curtis James and Jim Robinson made the decision that it was time for the Kaliwan Project to focus on themselves and produce their self-titled CD. Their first CD, self-titled \'The Kaliwan Project\' will take you through several moods and emotions as you sit back and listen to the creative combined genius of Curtis James and Jim Robinson. Today, The Kaliwan Project is currently working with vocalist Kitten Green for her up coming CD release in 2009.
