Hollywood & Highland
As the first Serekh artist to ever drop an album, KAMALLION is gearing up for his sophomore debut. Born & raised in L.A. Kamallion aka K-Milly comes from a long line of musical roots, whether it's gospel, R&B or hip hop. After 10 years working for the biggest gospel label in the world and then short stints at Interscope, Universal, and Def Jam. As an artist, Kamallion has grown significantly since his 2001 release Diary of an eMCee. The lyrical content from Kamallion is not the typical West Coast style, which is associated with 'gangsta rap', the style that once dominated the West Coast. Kamallion is a story teller of a different breed that tells his story from the backdrop of the Hollywood scene, in which he works in. He has drawn comparisons to Xzibit for his voice, Method Man for his grimy appeal, Busta Rhymes for his stage presence & energy, but Kamallion's style is his own & it is evident from the music. Kamallion's vivid lyrics and high energy stage show, have helped set him apart from other west coast rappers. With a background in journalism from Cal St. Northridge he has built up an indie empire that would make Jay-Z proud. Along side partners Devin Dev Penzella and Tyree Reakshun Dillihay, this artist has graced the stage of every major club in Hollywood. Kamallion's latest LP Hollywood & Highland, showcases his musical strengths and growth as an artist. The production has grown as well, with new producers & some old ones, that give Kamallion a funky, musical, hip hop sound. The new album, Hollywood & Highland is a tale of a club promoter that aspires to become a famous rapper. Kamallion tells his story through song & dialogue that has been taken directly from the script of the movie. Yes, a movie is to follow from this LP release and released to art house theatres. The movie will be unlike any other that has come, whether it's 8 Mile or ATL, no one has told the story of California nights like Kamallion does in this LP/movie. In addition, Kamallion is currently in the process of expanding his indie empire, with a reality TV pilot, that will follow him through his endeavors, from shows to out of town trips, as well as key members of his entourage, that have things going on themselves, and show how they all come together to support each others careers in different ways. He also is a key contributor to Hiphopolis, the animated hip hop cartoon from Tyree Dillihay, as well as a clothing line in the works. Kamallion is bound to have an effect on the independent music scene, with executive instincts, artistic creativity and a support system committed to taking him to the top.
