This Songs' for You 1
About Kelesha and Guest Artists: I was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. I moved to Oakland, California at age five. I studied with Elena Duran, student of world renowned Jean-Pierre Rampal. I moved to San Joaquin County in 1985. My formal music training began at San Joaquin Delta College, in Stockton, California, where I studied for one year with Caryl Mae Scott, who was Principal Flutist for the Stockton Symphony. Although you can sense my classical training, my style is varied. I completed Band Conducting at Cal State East Bay. There are three guest artists on this CD, Ron Moton performing additional instruments, B.Z. Lewis on the drums Track 1, and Tanya Wilson on the oboe. All three artists add their unique style and presence that help give this C.D. The perfect balance between an inspirational and contemporary sound. About the CD: Volume 1 is a dedication to children, but the music is for all ages. I enjoyed recording Track 14 the most! It almost felt like a jam session (featuring Tanya Wilson and produced by B.Z. Lewis of Studio 132). Another song I enjoyed recording was Track 3 (produced by Ron Moton of Moton Productions). Tracks 1-7 have primarily an inspirational sound and Tracks 8-14 are more contemporary, overall. I hope there will be at least two or three songs that you will come to know and love. While in college I went to a Chuck Mangione Concert. After taking a jazz class years later, I wrote Track 13, with it's syncopated rhythm that reminds me of his music. Similar in tempo to Track 8,Track 13 is a love song turned instrumental. I hope this music helps you relax! My latest release is now available on CD Baby called 'Sunrise Serenade'.
