It all started in church. A song would be birth on September 15, 2001, at 9:30 p.m., by the spirit of God, at the Saints Memorial Church of God in Christ, located in the city of Bakersfield,CA. The song was written and arranged by Kelvin McGee, mixed and edited by Kenneth Kemp, and Co-Sponsored by Loren Hall, President of 'Eat Em'Up Records'. 'We'll Raise Our Flag', in a period of two weeks, tremendously affected the community of Kern County, population 625,000. Since it's origination, 'We'll Raise Our Flag' has received two television news exclusives from Channel KBAK-TV 29 CBS and Channel KGET-T.V. 17 NBC, has been listed in the newspaper, was used to raise the Red Cross over 1300.00 dollars in a three week period, has received the African American Network/Black American Political Association Committee City Wide 'Performing Artist' Award, has been supported by prominent businesses of the city of Bakersfield in a video presentation that features 'We'll Raise Our Flag', has played every Saturday on one of the largest radio stations, KERI Radio 1180 A.M. on the show 'Gospel Connection', hosted by Charles Moore, which range from San Francisco to the Los Angeles area, and was presented by Don Hicks, performed by Kelvin McGee at one of the biggest concerts in the city of Bakersfield, held in the largest Civic Center. It was here that representatives of the city fire department and thousands of people waived flags in the air while the song went forth. What an awesome sight it was! Recently, 'We'll Raise Our Flag' was requested to be performed at a Delegation Rally. The song was performed for Congressman Calvin Dooley and Lieutenant Governor Cruz Bustamante of California. Many have stated that 'We'll Raise Our Flag' expresses the feelings, the attitude, and the dignity of the United States to the fullest.
