Ken Blankenberger's Music to Create By
I've enjoyed listening to music for a lot of years now, and hopefully many more to come. I've loved listening to records since my parents bought the Harlem Globe Trotters album and the Groovey Ghoulies album for me and my brothers. The best time I ever had playing music was kicking out the jams in a garage band with my brother Kevin and my friend Ray Caruso. That was about 20 years ago. We played for parties at our practice space and recorded songs on an analog 4 track. They were simple, low quality recordings, but we loved making them! Since then, Kevin has gone on to perform and record his own music, and so has Ray. I got a digital multitrack recording program for my computer a few years ago. I've had a lot of fun having complete control and unlimited time to record. I think I've gotten better at making crisp sounding recordings. Someone once said Benny Goodman spoke more clearly with his clarinet than he did with his voice. I think I'm a lot like that. I speak more clearly with my guitar and various instumental toys than I do with my voice. I hate playing publicly on stage. The only time you'll catch me playing out is at a drum circle where everyone is involved in making the music and it's all spontaneous. I hope you enjoy what you hear and encourage me to make more tunes to share.
