BAIRD BRITTINGHAM An accomplished guitarist and music biz veteran, he has toured with Hawaii recording artists "Cecelio and Kapono", and opened concerts for Tina Turner and Dionne Warwick. Baird has been written up in National Performing Songwriter magazine and has won an MTV award for his songwriting, as well as a NA Hoku Hanohano award (Hawaii's version of a grammy) for his role in co- producing Peter Moon's record "Cane Fire". He has numerous recording credits to his name and has released two previous solo projects "As the Night Falls" and "Angel with A Bad Intention." On "Divine Intervention" he wrote all the music and handles all the instrumentation and vocals. "It was a great opportunity", he says. "And it came out better than I hoped. I believe the music comes to me from somewhere else, I'm just a channeler. I didn't really notice until the project was nearly finished how Kelly's lyrics really told the story of my life. It was a real chicken skin moment for me, scary almost, a real God thing". --DIVINE INTERVENTION- BAIRD and KELLY met at a mutual friend's house, Kelly is a recovering alcoholic and drug addict, of the hopeless variety. After over a hundred different low bottoms, he was left literally with the shirt on his back,no one to call no place to go,left with only 24 different song lyrics, about 30 years of alcohol and drug addiction. And the different people and places he had experienced, in and out of recovery. He believed that one day he would meet someone like Baird to put music to his lyrics to express to the world, God's grace in his life. Shortly after his one year birthday of being clean and sober he met BAIRD by his second AA birthday 19 songs were completed Kelly's sobriety date is 10-05-03. Kelly and Baird both agreed that DIVINE INTERVENTION would be a appropriate title. We hope you enjoy this CD as much as we do.
