Expose': If you dropped Prince, Lenny Kravitz, and Seal into a blender mixed in some Stanley Clark, added a little Parliament Funkadelic, smoothed over with a groove from Sade and turned it on high. What you would come out with is a brew called Funkdingo served up by songwriter/multi-instrumentalist 'Kowboi'. The Music: From the first track (S.O.B.) 'Sounds Of Birth' a baby crying signifies the finality of labor. Although breached and long overdue this compilation is alive and kicking. 'Soldier' starts with dual acoustic guitars that swell into a smooth bass driven groove guaranteed to get your head nodding early. The parroting effect lead vocal arrangement is topped off with plush background vocals that may give you a sense of floating on air. Careful, this one is definitely infectious making this song hard to get past and move on to the rest of the CD. 'No Payments Til April' is reminiscent of vintage 80's edgy rock complete with a megaphone vocal delivery and funky stripped down guitar rhythm. 'Good Sex' a jam that will surely inspire lewd, lascivious and raunchy booty shaking behavior on any dance-floor. Although the lyric means something else entirely this song comes with a disclaimer; 'you don't need no stinkin' rhythm just move'. 'Fragile' indescribable, just listen until you get it. Not since Marvin said 'What's Going On' has a song embodied the true in-depth quandary of world conditions. 'Thumb Attack, Straight Bent and 'Far Left Side Of The Brain have torn a few pages from the advanced tap, thump and pluck bassplayer's handbook. The seemingly three handed bass technique on Far Left Side Of Tha Brain may require manual closing of the mouth after listening the 1st time. Are you the kid that never fit in, never picked but always picked over? Have no fear 'Success' is the anthem for misfits and former gangster's children who grew up in the witness protection plan. If you were the ugly duckling sitting alone every weekend but now you're the Secret, Victoria was keeping; 'Success'is your song. 'Meology' is a concept that is being practiced by you, me, we, us, in our everyday lives sometimes unknowingly sometimes deliberately but always methodically. Kowboi's blues progression is oh so not your daddy's blues; this blows the traditional approach clean out of the water. The story-lines of 'Mow The Lawn, and The Way It Is' explore personal relationships gone way the hell wrong. 'X' not since the peace sign has one symbol said so much? Rounding out the compilation, 'Hold On and Follow No Man' deal with spiritual muse & angst. The surprise twist @ the end of Follow No Man chants volumes. Of course this collection would not be complete without the ever continuous bass-riff on the heavily orchestrated 'OnlyU' which pays homage to the one that made it all possible. Artist History: Kowboi has appeared on major network television shows playing bass with Usher, Jagged Edge, Jermaine Dupri, The Brat and old school R&B funksters The Dazz Band. He has toured Italy and acted as MD with Georgia Music Hall Of Fame inductee William Bell for his PBS nationally televised induction. You can also hear his unique style on the remix 'Pray' performed by Grammy Award winning gospel artist André Crouch. Exposure of this caliber can only lead, inspire and compel an artist to put forth a stellar performance. Précis: Buy it,listen in the car, listen at home, wrap those headphones around your brain and get grooved. You are certain to hear something you like so, press play often & rewind repeatedly. I'm sure you will agree 'Meology' is a definite addition to any bonafide music lovers' collection. 'Listen with the blinds on your mind wide open.'
