Ghosts & Obsessions
Vita Izabella and KristinaMarie Cascone have created a unique sound with their opposing backgrounds and styles of singing. Vita Izabella is a classically trained singer who has been greatly influenced by the classical and jazz greats. KristinaMarie is a rocker through and through, having been influenced by artists such as Janis Joplin, Patti Smith, and Pat Benetar. Although their voices are seemingly on opposite ends of the color spectrum, when blended together they become one fascinating splash of sound. They have become heavily influenced by each other over the past few years of performing and writing music together. In fact, it is now difficult at times to discern one voice from the other. "It is Kristina Marie's and Vita Izabella's raw emotion and infectious energy that make their performances so compelling." Over the past few years, Vita Izabella and KristinaMarie have been working closely, writing and recording with good friend and producer, Paul Umbach (Nine Days, Aaron Carter, Britney Spears). They have been showcasing their original music, both individually and together, at NYC venues such as The Knitting Factory, The Bitter End, The Sidewalk Cafe, Pete's Candy Store, The Lion's Den, Kenny's Castaways, CBGB's Gallery and The Back Fence. They have also showcased their music at the nationally recognized Chick Singer Night, at The Bitter End, hosted by Deena Miller and performed at the BMI Girls Night Out showcase. When Kristina con Vita plug in to reach heightened decibel levels, they are joined by four screaming lunatics which form the band, K.R.A.V.E.. Ghosts & Obsessions features two award-winning original songs: In November of 2006, Kristina con Vita's duo act won first place at Harlem's legendary Amateur Night at The Apollo Theater with "Everything About You.' Earning both first place in the GoGirls Songwriting Competition, 2007 and the Best Band category in the International Music Aid competition,"In Between' was produced & caressed with passion by Paul Umbach. It features smokin' guitar riffs played by Andy Bassford.
