Kurt Schulenburg is a composer/arranger who works with electronic and acoustic instruments to create soundscapes for emotional exploration. (And if you can think of a more pretentious way of writing... let me know!) Geez... I justed wanted something to listen to while soaking in my hot tub... I've played piano since 1966, picked up the saxophone in 1970, the trumpet in 1972. I've got a degree in MusEd with a Composition emphasis - and have played in various professional and semi-pro groups since I formed my first band in 1972. These days, my music is created on a computer, my instrument of choice is the mouse. Just about every note you hear is entered one at a time and most of my songs take weeks if not months to create. I'm leaning more and more towards film music - I'm trying to create Soundtracks for Real Life, music to enhance all the mundane things we do every day. I don't like tunes that are too 'sticky', ones that you can't stop singing - but I do like melodies that are hummable. Moods and feelings to help you clean house, drive to the bank, go to work are the focus. It's more about background sounds than Rock Star ego, always subtle, but always with direction.
