Kyle Crossland EP
Singer-songwriter Kyle Crossland has recently been drawing the attention of his fellow students at the University of Miami. Professor John Redmond, former Vice President of Universal Music Publishing, describes Kyle's songwriting as both "well-crafted" and "first class musicianship". Kyle's energetic performances and catchy up-beat songs are almost magnetic to whoever happens to be listening. At a young age, Kyle Crossland recognized music as a life-long love and lasting commitment. He has been singing for as long as he can remember, and growing-up he idolized artists such as James Taylor and the Beach Boys. His love for singing brought him to Dr. Phillips Magnet High School, which focused on choral studies. It was in his junior year of high school when Kyle first picked up a guitar and started writing songs. Over his last two years of high school, Kyle performed his own material both as a solo artist and with his band Kyle Crossland and the Dudes. Playing numerous shows locally around his hometown of Orlando, Florida, Kyle's experiences with songwriting and performing only increased his drive to become a performer. After graduating from Dr. Phillips High School in 2006, Kyle set off to study Music Business at the University of Miami's Frost School of Music. Kyle is now in his junior year of the Music Business and Entertainment Industries program, and while studying the ways of the music industry, he has been developing his own image as an artist in and around the Miami area. At the beginning of this year, Kyle Crossland joined the University of Miami's student-run record label, 'Cane Records, as their newest feature artist for 2009. Kyle and 'Cane Records are both excited to announce the release of his self-entitled EP in April 2009. The EP will feature five of Kyle's most popular songs, with the addition of his friends Rob Faulstich on bass guitar and Karl Fagerstrom on drums.
