Ride the Solar Wind
Free Time (July-August 2002) '. . . at first there is a sense of pop throughout with acoustic guitar and crystal clear lyrics. But listen deeper . . each instrument is there for a reason. Nothing is overdone. While acoustic is the focal point . . .there is some cutting edge guitar on songs like 'Dancing Girl (Deseree).' a song that reminds me of an old Spirit (the band) song. 'Free to be Free' has a raunchy electric guitar that is rough but fits perfectly. Louis Dixon offers up a very tasty sax solo on 'Give It Time.' The CD is very well produced by Lafayette who wrote all the songs and Frank Lisenbee who helps out with every kind of string instrument you can name. . .'
