Lift Up a Praise
Larry was born and raised in the small Southern community of Rutherfordton, North Carolina. Growing up in a church-going family, he often attended choir practice with his mother. At the age of 9 he told his mother he could lead the song they were practicing. Larry began to sing and they were amazed at how talented he was, and immediately he was asked to join the adult choir as a lead vocalist. Larry wasn’t aware of this great gift that God had given him so graciously, until close friends and family began to approach him, complimenting him on how he would never fail to bless them every Sunday morning. The Lord brought Larry and his family to Central Church of God; a spiritually prosperous church in Charlotte, NC under the leadership of Pastor Loran Livingston; who preaches God’s word so that the captive can be set free. God spoke to his heart one Sunday morning in March of 1996 and the chains that had him bound were released all at once in the name of Jesus and he is no longer the same person that he used to be. The world that Larry once knew as a non-believer was turned upside down, that’s when the Lord began to show him his vision for his life. He is still singing praises to the Lord, but now under the anointing and the power of the Holy Spirit with the sanctuary choir. Larry is also currently serving on staff at Central Church of God with the Jail and Prison Ministry Outreach. God has given him the opportunity to go behind prison walls and minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ; so that men, women, boys and girls alike can know that even though they’re externally incarcerated, they can still be set free internally. The purpose of this album is to lift up Jesus Christ so that all creation would be drawn to Him and not man.
