Oso O Ilios Tha Zei
Lefteris Karvelas BIO Lefteris was born in New York and grew up in Athens, Greece. He started playing guitar at the age of sixteen and after a year he was performing in a rock band as a lead guitarist at different music bars of Athens. After graduating Athens College he went to America, initially to study Business Administration, but his love for music led him to Berklee College of Music in Boston. He graduated from B.C.M after four years as an honor student (Magna Cum Laude) with a scholarship and received a degree in Guitar Performance. While attending B.C.M he formed his own band called The L.C Band playing his original jazz-fusion compositions in different clubs of Boston. He returned to Greece in the summer of 2003. His first professional appearance as a guitarist in Greece was the summer of 2000 with Anna Vissi at a club called Asteria. Since then he has performed in concerts and clubs in Athens and abroad with Anna Vissi, Christos Dantis, Giorgios Demetriadis and Elizabith Karatzoli. In Anna Vissi's album called "Paraxenes Eikones" released 2005, he orchestrated and produced a big part of the CD. The CD also included two original tunes of his (music & lyrics) called "Velos" & "Pos ta Fernei Etsi i Zoi." He released his first CD-single titled "Tipota Den Einai Opos Palia" with SONY-BMG in 2005, which included three tunes of his. Apart from writing the music and co-writing the lyrics with Mary Kavatha he also produced and arranged the tunes on his first CD single. The summer of 2005 he participated in the Coca Cola Sound Wave festival. In the past two years he has worked in night clubs which included the singers: Going Through, Dimitris Korgialas, Natasa Theodoridou, Anna Bissi, and Stamatis Gonidis. In January 2007 he won the MAD TV artist of the month contest, sponsored by STARBUCKS, among other new entries in the music industry. His full length CD titled "Oso o Ilios Tha Zei" circulated in May 2007 from Impact Music. The CD includes eleven songs which he has composed and sings. The summer of 2007 he sang in a club called Apotheosi in Patra and also participated in a new musical called "DREAMS" of the announced composer Mimis Plessas.
