His Love Is Forever
Legacy of Faith was first formed in 2000. Originally known as Broken Vessel, they were forced to change their name due to copyright issues. When trying to decide what to be called, founding group members Wade Stewart, Chad Stewart, and Greg Thames knew that their ministry didn't start with themselves, but instead was passed down from their fathers. All three grew up listening to their fathers sing southern gospel music for several years. Doug Stewart (Father of Wade and Chad) sang lead for the Mid-Americans Quartet out of St. Louis, MO while Richard Thames (Father of Greg) sang bass for The Professors out of south Mississippi. These two men are solid men of faith and demonstrate it in every day of their lives. They were not only passing on a legacy of just southern gospel music to their boys, but even more they were passing on a legacy of their faith in Jesus Christ. Wade, Chad, and Greg knew that this was how they wanted to be recognized 50 years from now and so as a constant reminder to themselves, they named themselves Legacy of Faith. LOF's desire is that they would be able to pass on a 'Legacy of Faith' to their families and those they encounter in their ministry. In January of 2003, LOF released their first project, 'All That I Am', which included a few classics that they were able to add a little of their own flare to while also introducing a few new songs to gospel music. Soon after the release of 'All That I Am', LOF became the first place winners of the 2004 WFCA Talent Search Contest Group Division. This put LOF in the spotlight of central Mississippi's gospel audience and allowed them opportunities to sing with such groups as Signature Sound Quartet, Crossway Quartet, Gold City, and many others. As of January 2006, LOF is proud to announce that they are a part of Resting Place Record Label out of Sylvester, GA and look forward to their first national radio release, 'Jesus Put A Song In My Heart' come January. LOF's desire is to first exemplify Christ in their lives daily, to share that message in song along with their testimonies, and to hope that they will reach hearts for the Kingdom of God.
