The Best of Japanese Power Pop, Holidays Of Seventeen. LOCAL SOUND STYLE (a.k.a. LSS) is a Japanese EMO/Rock/Power-Pop band consisting of Masahiro Araseki (Vo&Gt), Yusuke Goto (Gt), Takayuki Kurotaki (Ba) and Kosuke Saito (Dr), who all grew up in the same city, Hirosaki, Aomori, country side of Japan. LSS's debut album was produced by Ed Rose and was a great success in Japan. Holidays Of Seventeen (a.k.a. HO17) are a Japanese Power Pop band formed in October, 2004, in Fukuoka well known as the Rock City of Japan. HO17 have recently opened up for Weezer Japan Tour in Fukuoka. HO17 originally consists of Taro Miura (Vo&Gt), Kota Nakahara (Gt&Cho), YO-PEI Ikari (Ba&Cho), and Munetoshi Nakayama (Dr&Cho) and later Yomogi Yamashita (Key&Cho) joined in. HO17's debut album is produced by Chris Shaw and has brought a new sound to Japanese rock scene. Both bands have worked with Chris Shaw and played for CMJ Music Marathon 2008 in NY.
