Love Cinema 6
Love Cinema Volume 6 started in the summer of 2004, when some producers-who were looking for a band to do a punk rock rendition of A Midsummer Night's Dream named Puck'd-contacted Shawn Orr. Shawn then asked his longtime friend George to play guitar in the band. They then got Frank Brown to drum. They practiced once as a trio and then realized they needed a singer to complete their sound. Chuck Nasty was their first and obvious choice. They met with the play dudes in the New York who seemed to have no idea what rock and roll was and gave no useful musical direction to the band. Frustrated; the band began to voice themselves in original material. The band booked their first show in August at a local bar named Connections. They didn't have enough songs for a full set but managed to get an incredible response from the crowd and were asked to play again. A week after their first successful show, the play dudes came to the bands rehearsal space to check them out. The band performed Human Toilet and Clit Like A Penis. The play dudes wanted then to break up the band and use only some members for their play. The band refused and a few weeks later went into the studio to record their first demo. They recorded and mixed 6 songs in 7 hours with incredible efficiency. They burned the demo and distributed a few hundred copies and garnered themselves some notoriety in the underground scene. Within a few short months, they had found a small cult following which seems to be growing exponentially at ever succeeding show. In February 2005, Love Cinema Volume 6 recorded their first full length on Refugee Records a few short months after forming.
