Lonesome Lo-Fi Lullabyes
Mabel McGee and Pennsylvania Slim are the monikers of singer-songwriters Willow Scrivner and David Bavas in their alt-country-noir collaboration due out November of 2008. Guitarist, Kevin Wood, recorded the album bringing a Daniel Lanois-like sound to the mix, as well as a country twang with lap steel and electric guitars. Willow, Kevin, and David met five years ago in a Seattle apartment building as next-door neighbors…after some late nights with three guitars and a bottle of bourbon, the collaboration of Lonesome Lo-Fi Lullabyes was born. The result is a haunting record of sin, redemption, and those lonesome, classic country themes.
