Makeoutmusic was formed in 1999 when three high-school students, fed up with the sudden explosion of emo and the downfall of good punk rock, decided to form a band which would bring the dying genre back to it's former glorious status. As a joke they named the band Makeoutmusic. Initially, the name led to a good amount of confusion, but as they continued to rock the area's leading venues the paradox cleared and they began to steadily amass a dedicated local following. Over the past three years they have been constantly evolving and striving to progress without compromising their mission: to consistently dish out raw, aggressive punk masked with subtle nuances that differentiate them from other standard punk bands. They have toured the U.S. several times (including forays into Canada), put out two releases independently (the Rise of Poop Culture, 2003; Infidel, 2004) which have both been very favorably reviewed by numerous publications and e-zines and been featured on too many compilations to count. With their current lineup consisting of original members Olivier Charlas (guitar and vocals), Tyler Mahal (drums) and the amazing blow up doll cheryl (bass), Makeoutmusic is releasing their next album dubbed 'Segrenation', which is out now. Enjoy.
