Marangatang is: Brian Trinen-bass, vocals Colleen King-guitar, vocals Grant Eoff-drums & cymbals Marangatang is a rootsy, rock & roll power trio from Seattle, formed in May 2002 from the ashes of Betty Won't, Static Cling and Heavier on Jupiter. We put on a high energy live show, and will have a drink (or twelve) with you when we're done. We've performed in Seattle at places like Graceland, Experience Music Project, and The Central Saloon, and a few other joints. In 2003, we went to the east coast, playing shows in NYC and Cape Cod, Massachusetts. In 2004, we released our first CD, a self-titled, 7-song EP. We've been playing shows in Seattle and other towns in the Northwest region in support of our EP since it's release. Marangatang is best described as punk and roots-influenced garage rock. Colleen King is Marangatang's secret weapon with some of the meanest rock guitar playing you'll find in the Northwest. It has become quite common for smarmy barflys to give Colleen a hard time on her way into a club with her gear, only to shower her with praise after she's rawked the house. Brian and Grant fill out the sound with a creative, locked-tight driving rhythm section creating a much bigger sound than people expect to hear from a rock trio. Our goal is to work harder than we have before, every time we play. If we aren't wiped out at the end of a set, you didn't get your money's worth. And Marangatang can't have that.
