Arrullo de Angel
Marien is a Mexican harpist interested disseminating the sound of the harp and the soft and relaxing effects it is characterized for. She studied with Polish instructor Ursula Mazurek at the Superior School of Music in Mexico, and with the Welsh harpist Ieuan Jones in England. She has played classical concerts in Argentina, England, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela, and the United States, and has played as a soloist with all the leading orchestras in Mexico such as the Bellas Artes Chamber Orchestra. In 1998 she published an introductory harp method book for children titled 'Arpaso a pasito' which uses Mexican folk songs. She has been invited to several conferences and talks to lecture about the study of harp for children in schools. From 2001 to 2004 she acted as director of the School for Musical and Dance Initiation at the Ollin Yoliztli Cultural Center in Mexico city, where she teaches harp since 1996. Her record productions include "Arrullo de Angel" and "Navidad de Angel" and a children's DVD titled "Es hora de Dormir". These recordings have been recommended by the official magazine of the Mexican Association of Pediatricians, to help relax and induce babies to sleep.
