Grandma Mary's Latin Rock
'Hi there! I'm Mary, often known as Grandma Mary. I love playing the guitar and this album is dedicated to all who share my passion for the guitar......' Mary Ho, 72, must be the coolest grandma in Singapore and possibly the world. She first started learning to strum the acoustic guitar at the age of 60. What started as leisurely strumming soon developed into electric lead guitar solo playing. There has been no turning back since. Despite initial fears, physical drawbacks and lack of musical training, Mary\'s love for the guitar drove her on. After years of hard work and perseverance, Mary mastered a sizeable repertoire, some of which she has performed on stage at public events. In this album, she shares with you a selection of her favourite pieces. Mary draws her inspiration from guitar legends like Carlos Santana and BB King. Family and friends give her strength to carry on. Apart from playing the guitar, Mary also dances, plays the electone, drums and harmonica. She loves drama and travelling.
