Mary Dawn is a... * spiritual teacher and mentor * college professor * author and artist * Reiki Master * former Hospice Chaplain * former alcohol and drug treatment counselor As a Chaplain for the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, Mary Dawn used guided meditations, deep prayer and energy work to support patients, family members and caregivers. She has been teaching and leading deep prayer and meditation, and providing spiritual guidance since the early 1990s. Mary Dawn holds a Bachelors in Social Work and a Masters degree in Religious Studies. She is currently a professor of Applied Ethics at St. Petersburg College, where she helped write and edit the textbook, Ethics Applied, Edition 5.0. She has also taught Introduction to World Religions. Mary Dawn has served as Director of Adult Ministries for a large United Methodist church in Florida. In addition to Christianity, she has studied Buddhism, Sufism, feminist spirituality, and other traditions. When she is not teaching at SPC or making guided meditation CDs, Mary Dawn offers classes and retreats on Mini-Meditations for Busy People, Spiritual Recovery for Women, Feeling the Presence of God, Living in the Present Moment, and other topics. She enjoys walking meditations near the beach of the Gulf of Mexico in Pinellas County, Florida. She writes and teaches primarily in Clearwater, Palm Harbor, and St. Petersburg, Florida. She is also an artist making handmade paper and combining it with objects from nature to create a unique form of paper art. Mary Dawn and her husband Richard Denlinger have two beautiful, grown-up daughters and a friendly dog named Morgan. They also own Venture Out-Fitters, offering gear and apparel for hiking, camping and adventure travel, which is located in Clearwater, Florida.
