Someday a Collection of Cocktail Country
Mary Jane Smith is a part-time Country singer who is striving to become a full-time entertainer. Her CD, 'Someday, A Collection of Cocktail Country,' has received positive reviews and radio play. Like many female singers, Patsy Cline is her greatest influence. Mary Jane is also comfortable with singing jazz, bluegrass and pop, but 'classic country is my favorite music style.' 'Someday' is Mary Jane's first project and is a collection of her favorite country songs. Bob Clay of Country Plus Magazine said, 'Mary Jane offers her interpretations of chestnuts such as Johnny Cash's Tennessee Flat Top Box..and my personal favorite, Patsy Cline's Crazy..it is a pleasant listening experience and an encouraging debut.' Suzy Q of Classic County 1420 says, 'I have been fortunate to be able to see and hear many local musicians in the DC Metro area, but rarely have I heard one as good as Mary Jane Smith. In the country music genre, she can bring tears to your eyes when she does a Patsy Cline song, and in the folk/blues genre, she grabs your attention and doesn't let go.'
