Halfway to the Moon
Mason Black formed in January 2002 when Danny Drowns (vocalist, guitarist) and Dave Dennis (guitarist) met up with J.P. Tadpole (bassist) and Dan Ferguson (drums). Within a few months, Mason Black had recorded a 6-track demo, a 3-track EP and began playing live at venues around the Kansas City area. In less than a year of their formation, Mason Black had received regular air play on several radio shows. Mason Black has created a sound that might best be described as modern rock with tastes of pop, punk, and jazz. The music sometimes grooves and sometimes drives. All this is evident on Halfway To The Moon, the band's 13 track debut CD, which was self-produced and recorded at Neighborhood Studios in Lawrence, Kansas.
