For Matt Lambiase, a native of New York City, music has always been a home. Since early childhood he has been performing in one way, shape or form, whether it be playing trumpet, guitar, or more recently writing and singing original songs. After performing as a trumpet player in NYC during the 1990's, Matt began writing a few years ago and started singing at the encouragement of guitarist-writer-producer (and close friend), James Katz. More than two years of playing, writing and recording went into Matt's first solo effort 'Better," a 5-song EP in which he probes the depths of human relationships. Joining him on "Better" are long-time NYC colleagues James Katz and Mark Stewart. Also lending a hand are Matt Johnson, Jeff Allen, and Danny Sadownick. The result is a rich sonic context for Matt's honest, evocative writing. This is a very strong debut from an up and coming NYC artist. With the release of the CD, Matt is now concentrating his efforts on playing more live shows and finishing new songs. He has appeared at Artland in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and CB's Gallery, in downtown Manhattan.
