Matt Singer's been writing songs since age four, when he spawned 'Beep-Beep-Bop-Bop-Bop-Beep,' a whimsical yet touching piece about a boy's love for eating toothpaste. But it really began five years ago in Cordoba, Spain. Without the comfort of old friends or a familiar anything, he perched himself on the roof of his residencia, and wrote his first tunes. In August of 2001, he was featured on WWOR-710, on the Joey Reynolds show, where he was praised as 'hysterically funny.' He also recently composed and performed music for the critically acclaimed play, 'Boy Beautiful,' which was featured at the Best of The American Living Room Festival at the HERE theatre, in the Village. This record revealed Matt's versatility, with the politically charged 'As Long as Grass Grows and Water Runs,' the slick and scathing, 'Comprehend,' and 'Scary,' an energetic love song about an invisible girl. Monotone engineered the album and also produced Matt's next solo effort, SUBLIMATION, released in June, 2003.
