Wedding Day with Grace
Matt York has been playing the clubs of New England since he was fourteen years old. He was the singer/songwriter/guitarist for the popular Boston-based indie-rock band Wide Iris. The band received lots of critical praise and local airplay. The Boston Globe described them as 'Tight, polished, and brimming with attitude, the songs purloin bits of the Buzzcocks and Pixies, spin out some just-this-side-of-surf bass and guitar riffs, and work the whole garage-rock punk thing into a rich, foamy lather'. This CD is a collection of slower, more countrified/acoustic songs. The song that has drawn the most interest is a song titled 'Wedding Day' which describes a dad watching his daughter marry and reflecting on watching her go from being a baby to a lady. It has become an increasingly popular song for fathers to dance with their daughters to at their wedding. The rest of the CD explores similiar sentiments about love, hope and loss. Thanks for stopping by.
