Love Wins All
Matthew Baute is an inspirational Catholic musician who composes songs that speak of light and love in a world so often in need of being reminded of eternal truths. His songs resonate especially with youth and young adults thirsty for meaning and hope in our secular culture. Matthew grew up singing and playing the music of the St. Louis Jesuits and others in various Catholic choirs. His original compositions have been sung at praise and worship services, campus ministry-sponsored college events, retreats, adoration services, and coffeehouses. He is a member of the Catholic Association of Musicians, founded by John Michael Talbot. His music is published by World Library Publications (WLP) of Chicago, IL. Matthew's pieces range in style from the soft and contemplative 'In The Silence' to the upbeat and driving 'Look All Around,' twelve of which were recently featured on his debut CD entitled 'Love Wins All'. His songs are filled with metaphors of human longing and challenges, but also with overriding themes of faith, hope, and love: 'And the greatest mystery of all: There's a Love so deep whispering in our hearts It is waiting to share a life of fullness, mercy, and peace If we will quiet our hearts and be still. . . In the silence come be filled.' (In The Silence) Today Matthew travels across the US as a full-time lay 'music missionary' sharing God's message of mercy and love through prayer concerts and diocesan events. He strives to lead a simple, contemplative life in the midst of the busyness of the secular world, giving witness to the reality that God is still whispering an invitation of love to every heart. Matthew is frequently called upon to provide music ministry for various retreats and conferences, and many have remarked on the peace they experience during his Eucharistic healing concerts. He also offers workshops on the single life, vocational discernment, and healing through the annulment process. Matthew finds great joy leading the Sunday contemporary choir and playing for weekday grade school Masses at his home parish of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in St. Louis, Missouri, where he has ministered since 2002. God has Matthew Baute just where he should be at this point in his life...delivering hope and renewal through music and prayer.
