Prayer of the Roses
"Prayer of the Roses" was inspired by not only the love of songs of faith, but a remembrance of a promise given by Saint Therese of Lisieux, a young French nun, and composer. Before her passing caused by ministering to the sick, she promised "I will spend my heaven doing good on earth. It will be like a shower of roses." During a very painful time I experienced a revelation to a new spiritual sight and grace. A showering of roses! The vision lasted over a span of three years, and called to me through my music. The calling was to "gather songs like flowers for inspiration and The Eternal and give them to the world." This work is a vocal collection of contemporary and classical pieces. They include Godly Works by Niles, Handel, and other musical writers. Some of these songs center around the Christ Child and Christmas. The last piece is the angelic, ever heart warming, "Have you ever been down to Colorado." by Kirby. May you find comfort and joy through "The Prayer of the Roses."
