Her debut CD, 'Lighthouse Point', produced and engineered by Vaughn Lofstead, is a thought provoking collection of rich melodies mixed among some lighter, fun-loving songs. Penning all 15 tracks on this substantial album, Melissa's naturally soothing voice shines as she carries each song off effortlessly. Talented musicians, whose work completes the album, compliment her beautifully A native New Englander, Melissa grew up intently listening to John Denver in bewilderment and awe. She studied the piano and voice throughout her teen years and later picked up the guitar. After dabbling in classical and modern music, her heart led her back to folk and country roots. Indeed, her music has found a home there. Melissa first immersed herself in the Nashville music scene in 1996 after obtaining her degree from St. Lawrence University. Since then, she has been writing and performing in various local clubs around town and has begun work on her second album. Melissa has an excellent grasp of how to communicate real life emotions to which everyone can relate. Her music is one that crosses lines and barriers.
