The Merry Blacksmiths are a young traditional band from Santa Paula, California. The band plays traditional dance music of Ireland, as well as some original tunes. The band has been together for about four years, having first come together under Max Becher (left the band Nov. 2004-Aug. 2006) in 2002. Current members are Jeremy Vierling (Whistle), Daniel Bagdazian (Guitar), Max Becher (Flute, Whistle, Banjo) Nick Collins (Spoons), Liam Collins (Fiddle, Whistle), Luke Seeley (Bodhran) and Michael Burnt (Keyboard). Gan Aimn was recorded in Ojai, California in March 2004. It was never intended to be released as an album, it was originally for a competition on the Prairie Home Companion radio show. Neverless, an album it became, and it was released in September, 2004.
