'Chroma Zone' is a collection of dreamy synthesizer soundscapes selected from the DVD "Illumination 2; a more than two hour journey of cosmic sights and sounds by award-winning visionary film maker Ken Jenkins, on which Michael Diamond composed an hour and ten minutes of the soundtrack. While some of the music on the "Illumination 2" DVD comes from Michael's "Atlantis Rising" and "Indigo Moon" CD's, all of the selections included on 'Chroma Zone' were chosen because they are previously un-released, and not heard on any of his other albums. In addition, the last two compositions on the album are bonus tracks that were written exclusively for this CD, making 'Chroma Zone' a unique gallery of sonic artistry. All the music and sound design was created and produced by Michael Diamond on keyboard synthesizers, guitar-synth, & E-bow guitar. While 'Chroma Zone' features Michael's "lush luminous landscapes of sound", it differs from some of his other recordings in that it is totally ethereal with no grooves or rhythmic elements - perfect for a relaxing deep space voyage to inner galaxies. 'Chroma Zone' has been featured on 'Hearts Of Space' as well as 'Echoes', a nationally-syndicated radio program, where it is receiving weekly airplay. Michael's first CD, "Atlantis Rising", which featured a special guest appearance by new age music pioneer, Steven Halpern, was hailed as "one of the best new releases of the year" by cdbaby.com, and recieved international critical acclaim. Listeners who enjoyed that CD, are sure to enjoy "Chroma Zone' as well. Give it a listen, and get in the Zone... And speaking of entering the zone, Michael's 'Drifting Deeper' CD is a musical score created for a clinically-based sleep program, and unfolds as a flow of gentle ocean waves and a subtle sonic tapestry designed to provide a peaceful background for drifting off to sleep.
