These Days is a solo project by Michael Hood, a New York based guitarist and multi-instrumentalist. The album is a mix of instrumental and vocal music with styles ranging from contemporary folk to jazz to light rock. All the songs are built on a foundation of fingerstyle guitar, some kept simple, but on others there are added layers of extra guitar tracks (like "Into All The World"), flutes (like "David & Saul") piano, strings, drums, bass, and whatever else Michael could get his hands on! If you've read through the song list, you've probably already noticed a constant thread of the spiritual running through the CD. Faith has always been at the center of Michael's music, and even when writing or playing "secular" music, God's spirit still ends up in the mix! Michael brings over 20 years experience with numerous bands, as well as solo projects, writing, conducting, and teaching. He's played guitar with the jazz group Joshua (on the Pamplin label), guitar, lead vocal, and keys with the group Psalm 96, and a variety of instruments with a variety of other groups. Michael holds a Master's degree in music.
