Waiting for Angels
Michael Hood is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. His first (and second and third...) loves are guitar, piano, and singing, But he's also likely to be found playing flute, congas, or whatever else he can grab hold of. His musical influences are wide and varied, including artists from Dave Matthews to Steve Vai... from George Gershwin to Paul McCartney. Michael brings over 20 years experience with numerous bands, as well as solo projects, writing, conducting, and teaching. Michael holds a Master's degree in music. His songs have won honors in the John Lennon songwriting contest and have even been featured in an Off-Broadway production, "Melville and the Yellow Umbrella". He currently leads the Contemporary Christian quartet Psalm 96, singing and playing an assortment of instruments. He's also played lead guitar in the jazz group Joshua (on the Pamplin label), and a variety of instruments with a variety of other groups. Michael has a wife and two children. When not playing music he can be found reading, running, or in the karate dojo, where he is a 2nd degree black belt.
