Song for Our Life
Since the first project ('New Songs and Hymn Reconstruction' - 2003), a series of mishaps have plagued the creation of 'Song for Our Life'. First, the final masters of the second project were eaten by a dog. It is well known that old-style magnetic tape has a bad taste to dogs. However, the creation of protools and firewire drives holding many gigabytes of data in the palm of your hand have made it far more likely that entire recording projects will be eaten by dogs. And that's just what happened, so we only got partial credit on the 1st 2nd project. The 2nd 2nd project fell victim to music piracy. As the band sailed through a particularly dangerous part of the internet, they were attacked and overcome by music pirates. No musicians were lost, but the project sank to the bottom of the web. (And Jacob hates parrots now.) Fabulous fortune awaits those who find and salvage the wreckage. Lastly, the 3rd 2nd project was titled '2006'. As 2006 came to an end and the inevitable delays occured, concern arose that '2006' might be not achieve top-of-mind awareness when 2007 occurred. Because it was an indie project with no label, several friends who would call themselves 'edgy' and 'uncategorizable' met and made the decisions that a major label would typically make--although the meeting was not catered like they would do at a major label. All parties agreed that kids would not want to buy a CD that was a year old. Further, the vocals needed at least a 2 db boost, and the lyrics made no sense and they needed to avoid mixed metaphors, and 2 of the songs needed 10 seconds shaved off the chorus, and the drums wer way too agressive. It'd also be wicked cool to put some AM sounding vocal effects and lots of reverb and delay. After this meeting, they got jobs and stopped calling each other. Needless to say, the 3rd 2nd project was cancelled. Finally, the 4th second project took shape and made it onto plastic. Fans and strangers alike are encouraged to purchase, and purchase often. SERIOUSLY... It's our hope that this project is a catchy presentation of the deeper Christian message. As always, the mission is to get good, Christ-centered music into as many ears as possible. We seek to glorify God with every listener and every listen.
