Who Holds the Light
Mitch Nassar (BMI) began playing music early in life. The piano and his voice are his core instruments but he also is well-versed at guitar; bass trumpet and other keyboard instruments. He has logged many years in the rock genre and draws from Beatles; Billie Joel; Elton John; Fleetwood Mac; Stones etc. Early Rock and Roll piano players such as Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard were influential as well. He also pays homage to the early Blues genre. He listened to a plethora of old 78 speed recordings and the piano players of the Delta and Chicago had a significant effect on him in the early development years. While always a Christian, Mitch began to write music profusely in 2005 and started recording Christian Rock in 2006. He is now considered to be a highly regarded recording artist and performer in the Christian Rock Arena. His music seems to cut across generational boundaries and have appeal to all categories of listeners and music aficionadas. Daughters, Courtney Day and Taylor Lee are two of the back ground vocalists on his recordings. Son, Elias Nassar's hands hold the light on the cover of the first CD (released in 2008). He also has the world class talent of Freddie Nelson (guitar; bvox) and Mattie Muckel (drums) on his recordings. The second release is due out sometime early in 2009. Mitch Nassar has brought down the house night after night and been played extensively on radio as well as performed on TV.
