Mona Finnih Bio's Mona Finnih was born in 1949, in Lagos, Nigeria at Queen Street Yaba. The first Nigerian International Singer and female to own a band. She was taken to Manchester England with her parents at the age of 1. Was there until her father graduated as a Chartered accountant; the late Bolaji Finnih She also is the Grand daughter of the late Sir. Adeyemo Alakija and her uncle was the first chief justice of the federation of Nigeria Sir. Adetokunbo Ademola. Mona gains her music knowledge at Methodist girl's high school and Methodist church where she sang in the choir and also a Sunday school teacher. Mona started singing professionally in 1967. She sang at Fela's Afro Spot, Maharani night club, Gondola night club, Tafawa Balwa square, Yoruba tennis club, National Arts theater, Country and states Republic of Benin, Enugu, Zaria, Kaduna, Ogun state hotel, Mainland hotel,Imo state,Art Alade's place, just to mention a few. In the U.S.A. she performed in the metropolitan area with Itadi & his band and the kokomas. She performed at the Kilimanjaro night club in D.C. Performed at the monument in D.C., performed in Baltimore and also performed in Ethiopia, Republic of Benin and Bulgaria .She presently has two children and three grand kids in the U.S.A. She was an Acting Coordinator for the Concentrated Employment Training Act Program in Philadelphia; also she was a Director of The Displaced Home Makers Program and New Choices program for welfare recipients for Prince Georges County Maryland. She worked in the nursing Profession as a Certified Medicine Aide and Technician & Restorative Aide. She worked for several years taking care of Alzheimer's patients, and the elderly. During this period she was able to take three years to finish her first gospel CD. She had Albums in the past 1.A STROLL IN THE MOONLIGHT, 2.ALMIGHTY, 3.ENI MABIMO (to have a baby).And now THE POWER OF GOD. Her first band was called Mona Finnih and the Sunflowers, 13 piece band the second band was Mona Finnih Jimi Lee& the Sensationals. The last band she had in Nigeria was called Asiko. Most of her songs were Philosophical and the music was Afro Jazz. She composes her songs for example "Tears of Happiness", "Son of A Man", "Thoughts Dedicated to Mama", "I Love Myself","Anikewajo","Eni Ma Bimo", and from "The Power of GOD" CD "I Will Bless The Lord", "Sing Hallelujah", "Children of GOD" just to mention a few. She's on a mission for the Lord.
