He is steadily carving a name for himself as a serious musician in the SF bay area. Mux's musical journey began when he joined the IIT-Madras music band as a keyboardist. The band won several awards throughout India in the inter-collegiate cultural scene. His original composition Vaarayo Vasanthamey won the first prize at BITS-Pilani culturals in 1995. As a keyboardist he has accompanied many well-known artists including P.B. Srinivas, T.M. Soundararajan, A.V.
