N-Luck bio- N-Luck, born Nicholas Shawn Hickman, started his singing career at the early age of 11, when he became a member of his church choir. After spending the better part of his life in the projects, Nick became focused on helping people change their lives. "It wasn't for me, it's for all of these other kids who are going through it. We can make a change if we try," stated N-Luck. At the age of 13, Nick and former choir member Marcus Fuqua set out to change Christian music when they formed New Addiction. Until recently, they had done just that, taking the ever changing Christian scene by storm. People had never heard of the style of music they had done. They combined mainstream beats and music to Christian lyrics. It seemed as though they had it all, until 2005 when Marcus made the move to Colorado, and their lifetime friendship and musicianship was laid to rest. Although they still remain friends, things just aren't the same as they were in the past. Now with his God-given musical talent in hand, Nick is on a new mission to try to make it as a solo artist. 'I think I have what it takes. There are no doubts in my mind that I can do it. It's all about who you meet and who you know. As soon as I meet the right people, I will make it. I have all the faith in the world,' stated N-Luck. Although N-Luck is now a solo Christian musician, he still holds the same values that he held as a member of New Addiction. 'I am going to do exactly what New Addiction set out to do, and that is to start a revolution in Christian music...something this world hasn't seen since the likes of DC- Talk.' said N-Luck. N-Luck's music resembles that of Justin Timberlake, Nick's personal idol. N-Luck, a lot like Timberlake, combines dancing ability with musical talent. However, he also brings a new dimension to the table by rapping, which resembles the musical style of Toby Mac. Although many people feel discreet about this, it can be seen that Nick is just as talented at rapping as he is at singing. More yet, along with rap, hip-hop, R&B, and pop, Nick is also able to do punk, and acoustic. N-Luck does this with his ability to play many instruments, including the piano and the guitar. 'Hey, I do what I love to do, and that is everything. I want to be able to touch someone from every genre.' N-Luck's solo debut album 'Split Personalities' is set to be released on January 19, 2007, and it is a mixture of pop, rap, hip-hop, and R&B with Christian lyrics. The album showcases all of N-Luck's talents, which include playing numerous instruments, singing, rapping, doing fill-ins, and occasionally producing. 'What I am doing is trying to touch lives and win souls. I am determined to do whatever it takes to help people, because what I say and how I live gives these kids a better tomorrow.' - N-Luck.
