Lord I Wonder
On November 19, 1965, while trusting in God with the inspiration to sing, Sister Laura Pointer organized a group. She named the Group 'The Harpette Singers.' Due to her love for singing the psalm, expressing the Harp was very impressive to Sister Pointer. In 1998, the group restructured and became 'The New Harpette Singers', which included new singers and management. The group consists of Evangelist Barbara Boone, Lead Vocalist, Barbara Ervin, Lead Vocalist, Shirley Hale, Background Vocalist and Angela Love, Background Vocalist. 'The New Harpette Singers' have gone on to Minister in song to many churches, nursing facilities, correctional institutions, schools, weddings and many other organizations, in addition to various social engagements held in Cleveland, Chicago, New York, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama and Texas. Their first release entitled 'Going All the Way' (released in 1994) inspired their second release, 'If I Were You', released in 1996 is still heavily selling today. Their latest release, 'The New Harpette Singers' has had tremendous success and their upcoming CD (to be released February 9, 2003) entitled, 'Lord, I Wonder' both recorded on Fame City Records is slated for the same success. The upcoming release was created with the acts of 9/11 in mind. Praising and worshipping in song.
