From the Pavement
Lately, the New York City quartet Newborn Kings have been busy rocking the Metropolitan area. They recently released their debut CD titled 'From the Pavement' in November of 2004. The band caught their first major break opening up for Atlantic recording artist Jewel in 2002 on her 'This Way' tour, playing major venues such as Jones Beach Theater - Wantagh, NY, Broward Convention Center - Fort Lauderdale, FL and the FleetCenter - Boston, MA, winning them fans along the East Coast. The band's energy and delivery appeals to audiences of all ages, including adults who are young at heart but disillusioned by much of the current trends in music. Recent addition of guitarist Al Afflitto has solidified this dynamic lineup. Bassist Jeff Miller and drummer David Di Nino are the rhythmic power behind the band. Frontman Russ Caputo's talent creates memorable and powerful lyrics. Newborn Kings reached national exposure in 2003 when partnership for a Drug Free America featured the 'Punk Kid' TV spot which they wrote and recorded the music for that aired over 200,000 times on major TV stations in the US.
