Noel McLeary EP
Being 4' 9" in a crowd, one might feel lost or intimidated. But when Noel McLeary, age 18, of Ligonier, Pennsylvania, begins to sing, all eyes and ears quickly focus on her and audience participation takes on a new meaning. Kneeling in prayer in the streets, wiping tears from their eyes, and rubbing their arms because of "goose bumps" are just a few of the responses listeners have. The reactions to Noel's vocals have been like this since she was placed into solos and spotlight roles beginning in the second grade. Noel's first recording studio and live radio appearance was with Jon Zov's Children's Choir at the age of nine. The Choir recorded a benefit song for Children's Hospital. Inspired by the ability to share her voice with others, Noel began blessing her home congregation with her vocals. Now, at eighteen, singing is still Noel's passion; although the stages, the opportunities, and her voice have grown. KDKA radio personnel were "stunned" with her ability. Noel's vocals have been said to have a soulful touch fueled by amazing power. When asked where she gets "that voice," Noel simply responds: "It's a gift from God." Noel frequently uses her gift in vocal solos to bless those with whom she worships in many area congregations, whether it is for special music, a funeral, or a wedding. Noel's performances in different venues have recently included a live interview and solo with the KDKA 1020 News/Talk morning broadcast team, the ECHL Johnstown Chief's professional hockey games, the Monroeville Arts Council POPS in the Park, and the Church of the Brethren Annual Conference International Dinner. She has shared her talent with those attending the American Cancer Society's Walk for a Cure, community festivals, local high school sports and state playoff events, as well as providing pre-game entertainment for the Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball Team. Noel also shares her intriguing voice with numerous local churches and coffeehouses, where she has open invitations to share her music. Noel believes her frequent appearances to be a ministry to reach young teens through young adults. Through her own examples of making the right choices, and with her heartwarming and energetic presentation of song, she seeks to lead those with little or no relationship with Christ to a better understanding of what it means to be a Christian. Now, releasing her first full-length project, Noel has collaborated with producers Danny Duncan and Eric Copeland along with A-list musicians from Nashville, TN to build a strong first effort.
