Teri Norton was born on October 31st, 1955. She has been singing ever since. There was never a doubt in her mind what she would do for the rest of her life. Teri has been in every type of band and sung every genre of music. She actually lived out of a suitcase for several years with everything she owned tucked in a storage unit in Nashville Tennessee. Most of the music she has performed throughout her career has been of a mixed variety that includes Pop, Rock, Light Jazz, Broadway Show Tunes, Funk and Country. The songs on this CD are Traditional Country and have special meaning to Teri. She explains: 'In 1999 Dad gave me 80 reel-to-reel tapes to transfer onto cassette. In the midst of old radio shows, family get-togethers and a variety of music, was a very special reel. It was a recording of Dad playing his guitar and singing some songs he had written. The tape was made in 1959. I was awe-struck at the clarity of his voice and his simple writing style. It brought tears to my eyes and I have wanted to record them ever since. We began recording on July 26th, 2004 and wrapped it up on August 9th. Dad came up from Birmingham for a week and was present for a good part of the process. He even blessed us with a harmony part on 'Honey Moon House' (Build A Bungalow). I wanted to get this done while Dad is still alive to see it. I didn't want to go to his grave and say 'Daddy! Look what we did!' What would be the point in that? This is a man with a great and rare talent who deserves recognition for that talent. Every time I came upon an opportunity to make a wish, this is what I wished for. This is a two CD set. We took Dad's original recording and re-mastered them with just a touch of ambience. I wanted everyone to know exactly where this music came from and hear it in it's original state.'
