Product Notes

Overhall was formed in 1990 when Chicago band Flammable Liquid (featuring Paul Dobroth on bass, Adam Gotheridge on guitar & Jeff Kerwin on vocals) contacted Tom and Mike Hall to fill in for departing members. The sound of the group drastically changed & became heavier as they quickly wrote and recorded a 4 song demo. After playing shows for about a year and a half, Gotheridge departed and took on the role of engineer/producer and the rest of the band continued on as a 4 piece. Overhall's influences range from R&B to blues to heavy rock & metal and those styles are apparent on their debut CD. Between recordings at Reel Sounds with Mark 'Mouse' Brunner engineering/coproducing and the Bat Cave with ex Overhall member Adam Gotheridge engineering/producing, the band came in to it's own powerful sound. The guitars are big and mean with the swagger & soul of the blues, the bass playing is nimble and heavy with a progressive edge, and the drums are rock solid laying a sturdy foundation for vocal whiz kid Jeff Kerwin's soaring vocals. Not your typical "if you've heard one, you've heard 'em all" rock band. Overhall is worth adding to your collection.
