All of the Glory
Hi. My name is Paul Alonzo. I was born in 1964 in my hometown of White Castle, Louisiana (about 30 minutes SW of Baton Rouge). When I was 7 years old, I started playing musical instruments and singing. By the time my teenage years rolled around I was playing in south Louisiana "bayou boogie" style dance bands. I made the decision to start serving the Lord wholeheartedly on May 7, 1986, at age 21, and immediately found myself helping Church musicians to improve the sound of their worship bands. As I grew in the Lord, I began to realize that music in a Church service was more than achieving a good, solid sound from a "gellin", "jamming" band. It's the celebration of an intimate, joyful relationship with the Lord. This worship CD, "All Of The Glory", is the culmination of twenty years of loving God and learning to trust Him day by day. Everyday with God is fresh and new !! ENJOY !!! Just a few personal thoughts on the songs from "All Of The Glory" : Track 1 - The song "Well with my Soul" is a celebration of having a deep peace in your heart that only Jesus can give, and being confidently excited about it. This song sports a "funk" beat with a commanding bass run, and a lead guitar solo that's going to make you grin. Track 2 - The song " We Have a Reason" is a song with a driving "80's style beat" that explains why we are so joyful when we love God and sing to Him. The powerful notes coupled with "super controlled" dynamics makes this song a blast to listen to. Track 3- The song "Your Word" celebrates Jesus living in us and giving us strength to live day to day and do His awesome work. I decided to withhold the distortion guitar on this one making it one of the softer of the fast songs. Track 4 - The song "All" Depicts total abandonment to, and focus on Jesus. The musicians and singers on this project just jumped right into this song and "ate it up". It crescendos at the end with a modulation where everyone seems to be FULL THROTTLE, yet, because of "painstaking mixing", can each be clearly heard........... P.S. I like the very last note of the song : (an organ with a spinning horn leslie effect) Track 5 - The song " Hold Me Close to the Line" is a musical prayer asking God to help me to stay pure in His sight in everyday life. The soft keyboards and shakers keep it easygoing until we highlight the latter part with some intense orchestra work. Track 6 - The song "With All My Heart" tells of the security one feels of belonging to God and proclaiming that there is none like Him. The rich, harmonizing trumpet solo in this song seems to perfectly compliment the message. Track 7 - The song "Center of My Heart" came about like this : Late one night, during a preliminary recording of this CD, I decided that a soft, slow sweet, honest worship song was needed in the line-up. After toying with a chord progression for about 2 minutes, I then decided to let the words flow from my heart to the Lord. After about 1 minute of organizing the words into a song, I began to sing "Center of My Heart". Recorded on this CD is the actual recording from that very night of the 3 minute old song. Nothing has been added to or taken away from this recording. This is the actual spontaneous occurrence. The reference to "choosing the better part is taken from Luke 10:38-42 where Mary chose the "better part" by sitting at the feet of Jesus. Track 8 - The song "Straight to You" declares that God is worthy of all glory : past, present, and future. The intense, "rip-it-apart" vocals in the chorus of this song pulls out all the stops !! Track 9 - The song "Trusting in You, Lord" is a song about the loving, helping hand of God pulling us through the hard times. This song contains some of the awesome names of God found in the Bible. Track 10 - The song "All Of The Glory" is a song about the death, burial, resurrection, and imminent return of Jesus ....as well the anticipation of worshipping Him forever. As for musical comments.............................................................................................................................................................................................................this song speaks for itself.
