Paul Gannon's Swampgrass Band
PAUL GANNON'S SWAMPGRASS BAND The Swampgrass Band features some of Nashville's finest talent. For the last four years, the band has entertained standing room only crowds at Nashville's 'Legends Corner', which literally stands in the shadow of the famous Ryman Auditorium. The Ryman, whose walls were home to the 'Grand Ole Opry' for years, is a spirit that Swampgrass cherishes for it's rootsy inspiration. Paul Gannon acquired his musical styling from the river valleys of Ohio, the coasts of San Francisco and New York City to the heartland of Norway and Texas. Settling in Nashville in the early 1990's, Paul found a combination of friends and musicians to form a band that could make great music, have a fun time on stage together and give their audiences a killer show. As Paul Gannon's Swampgrass Band's new CD gains airplay, the band is seizing the moment to take country music into the future without losing the flavor of the past. SOME MAY ASK WHAT IS SWAMPGRASS... IT'S A SOUND AND ATTITUDE CREATED WHEN PAUL GANNON (VOC./GUIT.) MEETS UP WITH BAND MEMBERS JOHN ROOT (DRUMS), LE ANN ETHERIDGE (BASS/VOC.), TOM MASON (SLIDE/DOBRO/VOC.) AND GUITAR WIZARD KENNY VAUGHN. THEIR FIRST RELEASE ON MALARIA RECORDS REFLECTS THE MANY STYLES WITHIN THE BAND. FROM 'ALL THAT'S LEFT IN MEMPHIS' AND 'CONJURIN' TO 'WHEN LOVE GOES' AND 'B BYRD BOUNCE' THE SWAMPGRASS CD HAS A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE. YOU CAN CATCH THE SWAMPGRASS BAND PLAYING EVERY SUNDAY NIGHT (10:00pm) AT LEGENDS CORNER ON LOWER BROAD...
