Paul Henle studied percussion with James Preiss at the Manhattan School of Music and was a founding member of the Manhattan Marimba Quartet. At the same time he was studying classical percussion, he was pursuing his interest in traditional Irish music, playing bodhran and bones at sessions around the city. He wrote his arrangements of O?Carolan's harp pieces for the MMQ in the mid eighties. Paul plays with the Scottish dance band Tullochgorum, and with the Irish traditional band Odd Men Out. This recording is the culmination of Paul's love of the marimba and Irish music. Together with his exquisite touch for percussion, he has created a rich musical sensation that has quickly caught on with listeners.
